Climate Action Peoples Hearing
7:00 PM
Montana State University
Description:
Your Voice Counts!
After years of inaction, the federal government is finally taking steps to clean up carbon pollution at power plants. Power plants are the nation's largest stationary source of carbon pollution, responsible for about one third of all greenhouse gas pollution in the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency recently announced the nation's first-ever limits on carbon pollution from future power plants and is currently accepting public comment on the new rules.
The Environmental Protection Agency is not holding an official public hearing on its draft carbon pollution standards for future power plants in Montana as part of its public comment period.
This is your opportunity to weigh in on the most important environmental issue of our time. A carbon emission standard for power plants will reduce America's and Montana's future emissions of carbon pollution, a critical step in addressing global climate change, and will help protect public health.

At this event, attendees will have the opportunity to voice their support for the need to address the changing climate and the proposed rules. They will also be able to submit written and verbal comments. All comments will be submitted to the EPA before the end of the official public comment period.
