Gallatin Valley Land Trust
The Big Sky Wind Drinkers running club (BSWD) and the Gallatin Valley Land Trust (GVLT) are sponsoring a community trails and linear parks awareness activity on Saturday, April 29, 2017, noon-4PM. Entitled "Bozeman 360", the event unveils a proposed 360 degree route on trails, sidewalks, and roads that encircles the city of Bozeman.

Rob Maher, President of the Big Sky Wind Drinkers, developed the proposed route as a way to celebrate Bozeman's love of trails--as well as to point out gaps and the need to fill in the missing connections.

"Everyone is welcome to get out and enjoy the existing trail system, learn how to get from place to place on foot or bike, and find out how to join BSWD and support GVLT," Maher said. "Our residents and our many visitors to the Bozeman area benefit from the increasingly easy access we have to our parks and trails. We especially want to thank our city, county, and state for supporting our local trail system."

Jeff Hough, Trails Project Manager for the Gallatin Valley Land Trust, oversees many projects and plans for the extensive community trail system. "Our professional staff and volunteers proudly partner with area land managers to connect, enhance and maintain the public trails that crisscross and interconnect the parks and natural areas of the city and county," Hough said. "Our open space trails now exceed 100 miles, and the Main Street to the Mountains vision is a key contributor to the quality of life here in the Gallatin Valley. The Bozeman 360 route is a great way to enjoy what makes Bozeman a great place to live."

GVLT and BSWD will have a Bozeman 360 information booth near the GVLT headquarters at the trails crossroads just south of Bozeman Public Library from noon-4PM on Saturday, April 29. Community members are welcome to stop by and learn about the Bozeman 360 route, BSWD's weekly Wednesday fun runs and road and trail races, and find out how to support GVLT's key role in protecting open space and providing trail access.

The proposed Bozeman 360 route includes Lindley Park, the softball complex and Highland Glen Nature Preserve, the Sourdough and Sundance Springs trails, Montana State University, Bozeman Pond, Valley West, the Gallatin County Regional Park, N. 19th Avenue, Cherry River, East Gallatin Recreation Area, and the Story Mill Spur.
