Bozeman Tritons Triathlon
7:00 AM
East Gallatin Recreation Area
Registration is now open for the 2014 Bozeman Tritons Triathlon, which will be held Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the East Gallatin Recreation Area. This annual fixture of the Gallatin Valley features both a sprint distance race and a long course race, with options for all abilities. As in past years, there will be a relay division for teams of 2-3 and a junior division for triathletes aged 16-19.

Unchanged are the race courses. The long course race is a 1500m swim, 40k (24.8) mile bike, 10k (6.2 mi) run. The sprint race is a 750 meter swim in the pond, followed by a 20-kilometer out-and-back bike and a five kilometer out-and-back run that finishes with a lap around the lake. Both races are fully supported with aid stations.

Transitioning from the role of participant to race director for the Bozeman Tritons Triathlon this year is Jamie Kujawa, who finished second among all women in the long course race last year, and went on to finish Ironman Canada the following month.

As in past years, participation is limited to the first 250 registrants. Race organizers hit that number and closed registration two weeks before the race last year, so Kujawa encourages all interested triathletes to register early. Registration fees go up April 1 and again on May 1. To register or to find out more, go to www.bozemantritons.org/tritonstri/

Kujawa also noted that the success of this annual event hinges on the work of volunteers, and she encourages anyone who is interested in helping to contact volunteer@bozemantritons.org
