'Scream on Green' Features Body Snatchers
7:00 AM
Emerson Center's west lawn (inside Theatre if raining)
It's back! The Bozeman Film Society's highly anticipated "Screen on the Green" returns on Saturday, August 23rd. Join us for an evening of free film under the stars on the spacious west lawn of the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture. Consider hiring a babysitter, as SOG:14 takes a scarier, more mature-themed turn this summer, featuring the wonderfully chilling 1978 Sci-Fi remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Few modern-day movies are more genuinely frightening than Invasion of the Body Snatchers, a thriller about seed pods from outer space coming to Earth and taking over people's bodies. Directed by Don Siegel in its original 1956 version, and by Philip Kaufman in this latter version, the cast includes Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright, Leonard Nimoy, Lelia Goldoni, a very young Jeff Goldblum, and an uncredited appearance by Robert Duvall.

Leave the little ones at home and book a date night with your teens and twenty-somethings to experience the clone invasion together. Beginning at 7 pm, enjoy fresh popcorn from Kaleidoscope Theater, the Rendezvous Food Truck, Red Tractor Pizza, Roost "Genuine" Ice Cream and the Zebra beer garden. KTVM sportscaster Kane O'Neill will open the evening and then join our Celebrity All Star Judges panel for an incredible "SCREAM on the Green" contest at 8 pm! Practice your scary scales and compete for a chance to win fabulous prizes and prestige. Judges assisting O'Neill will include Symphony Conductor Matthew Savery, movie Casting Director Tina Buckingham, Chrysti the Wordsmith, and KMMS "The Moose" DJ Michelle Wolf.

The movie starts at 9 pm, so bring your blankets or low-back chairs, leave the pooches home and arrive early for a great evening with friends on the Emerson's west lawn. This free event is made possible by Bozeman Film Society volunteers and sponsors. Rated PG-13 for violence and partial nudity, the film runs 115 minutes. Should the invasion strike Bozeman with rain or slime, the event will move indoors to the Emerson's Crawford Theater. Visit bozemanfilmsociety.org for more information -- and Keep 'Em Flickering!
