The Downtown Bozeman
Association, Downtown Bozeman art galleries and participating downtown
businesses are proud to present this summer’s Downtown Bozeman ArtWalks. The
ArtWalks
occur on the 2nd Friday of the month June through September from 6
to 8PM in
Downtown Bozeman. The galleries feature artists’ openings and receptions and
often provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
This year’s sponsors include
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle, KMMS AM 1450, 95.1 “The Moose”, Insty Prints, and
First Security Bank. The dates for this
year’s ArtWalks are: June 13th, July 11th, August 8th,
September 12th and a
“special” Hatchfest Artwalk on Wednesday, October 1st.

galleries and businesses listed below and at the Downtown Visitor’s Center
located at 224 East Main St.
(next door to MacKenzie River Pizza Co.).
The participating galleries along with their featured
artists for June’s Art Walk are as follows:
Alara is featuring jewelry artist Mauircio Serrano. This is Mauircio’s first US debut and creates pieces that are geometric and artfully handcrafted with sterling silver and18K gold accents
Altitude Gallery featuring local and regional artists in a cozy and contemporary setting. New paintings by Juli Adams as well as works by James Weikert, Trudi Gilliam, Sarah Angst, Mimi Babe Harris and jewelry by Marina Kessler, Katie Thompson, and Jacquie Spetz
Artist’s Gallery is featuring George Dunbar, a Bozeman potter who has just joined the Artist's Gallery, will be displaying his hand thrown vases and pots. Many of his glazes are from naturally occurring materials from the local area. Sally Jo Hand is a Bozeman artist who works primarily in pastel, watercolor, oil, and acrylic with themes inspired by nature, the human form, and a broad spectrum of human emotion and experience and Mary Penberthy will be showing acrylic paintings of aspen trees and painted feathers of animals and Indians
Artshoppe is featuring fused glass artware by Peggy Karr
Artworks Gallery is featuring their talented gallery artists Chaparral Fine Art is hosting a painting demonstration for Montana landscape painter Troy Collins, whose large, impressionist paintings of quaking Aspen, rushing rivers and mountain meadows have become a mainstay of the gallery's collection. Troy received his formal art training in the studio of Idaho master landscape painter Robert Moore, and over the past several years has used those skills and techniques to create a body of work that is wholly unique and thrilling in its intensity. This will be a great opportunity to see Troy's process first hand, and to experience one of his dramatic canvasses from start to finish.
Emerson Grill and Ecce Gallery are featuring large scale contemporary acrylics on canvas by Donna Gans, a New York native who has been residing in Whitefish, MT for 20 years.
ERA Landmark is featuring the recycled animals by Museum of the Rockies and live music by Michael Videon
Glasscrafters is featuring local artist Debb Rogers
Grey Fox Gallery is featuring oils paintings of classic landscapes in Gallatin Valley by Pat Mahan. She also relates her Christian experience through contemporary abstracts in mixed media Hatch Film Festival will have a table set up outside the Country Bookshelf at 28 West Main with information about their program and will also be showing examples of their films showing during the event. Homepage Café is featuring Shona Zimbabwe sculptures Indian Uprising Gallery™ is featuring a show titled, "HEARTSONG: Messages From A Red Earth,” new works By DG House Infusion Gallery of Art is featuring a show titled “The Earth Laughs in Flowers,” a new collection of beautiful flowers that stir the senses and bring them alive by Teresa Kelly-Tagas
Jessie Wilber Gallery and additional exhibits at the Emerson Cultural Center are featuring “Quilts, Now & Then,” antique and contemporary quilts by various artists, the Emerson Lobby Area is also featuring “Big Sky – Big Land,” photographs by Joanne Berghold, and the Weaver Room is featuring “Art for Africa Group Show,” a fundraiser for Uganda Orphans
Leaf and Bean is featuring watercolor paintings by Pat Branting and her student’s paintings by Jennifer Bardsley
Miss Zula’s is featuring paintings by Leslie Jones and Anne Menge Montana Panoramic and Beaucoup Framing is featuring Montana panoramic photography by local artist Craig Hergert
Montana Trails Gallery is featuring oils by Susan Blackwood and Howard Freidland
Old Main Gallery is featuring vintage reproductions of the Yellowstone and Montana region which are part of the collection “Olde America Antiques” owned by Jack and Susan Davis
Place Architecture is featuring architectural sketches of past and present projects. Don McLaughlin has been practicing architecture in Bozeman, MT for 30 years and this is a collection of sketches by Don and his employees.
Rocky Mountain Rug Gallery is featuring the finest in Persian and Turkish handcrafted rugs.
Studio Boone is featuring Chinese brush work paintings by Stephen Boone
Tart is featuring a show titled “Down the Rabbit Hole: Photographs inspired by Alice in Wonderland” by Margaret Mateskon
Tierney Fine Art is featuring western and wildlife sculpture by J.C. Dye The Yarn Shop is featuring weaving by the Bozeman Weavers Guild on the theme of Montana Wildflowers
Visions West Gallery is featuring colorful western and wildlife landscapes by Carol Hagan
While you stroll from gallery to gallery, you will also be able to enjoy live jazz music played by young musicians from the area. This activity is graciously sponsored by First Security Bank and will also be located in front of the bank at 208 East Main St. Read below for more information regarding these talented musicians and their ensemble called Blueshoes:
Blueshoes is a young jazz ensemble of kids ranging from ages 11 – 14 who are directed by Jake Fleming. The group has played for many events around Bozeman the last three years and last summer recorded their first CD entitled “Chaos” which is also the title track to their original composition on the CD along with a selection of jazz standards. The current members of the group are Corey Eide, Courtney Yovich, Gage Sowell, Jared Galloway, Ginny Anderson, Becky Anderson, Chandler Leachman, Josh Powell, Eliza Spogis, Uri Menalled, Andy Heck, Andrew Scherffius, Daniel Yoon, Jesse Gavin, Harrison Howard, and Asher Townsend. CDs will be for sale and all proceeds go to benefit Hand Me Down Some Silver, a non- profit organization that awards scholarships to those students in need for music lessons, music instruments, and special music projects.
