LITTLE SHADOW CATCHER: the Photography of D.F. Barry LOFT GALLERY: January 19 - April 6
David F. Barry is recognized as one of the 19th century’s foremost recorders of American Indian and other western portraiture. His images of George A. Custer, Sitting Bull and the prominent westerners he encountered in his travels across the Dakotas in the 1870s and 80s are some of the best recognized and most thought provoking photographs that survive from the period. This exhibit features more than 40 high-quality prints taken directly from the original glass-plate negatives now owned by the Denver Public Library, and is solely funded by the Charlie Russell Riders Foundation.
