Description:
Foundations in Fermentation
A three-session class in Bozeman on three consecutive Saturdays exploring the enlivening gifts of fermenting in the modern world. Take one, two or all three sessions!

This second session covers Fermented Vegetables and takes place on Saturday, November 3 from 10am-12pm.

Students will learn techniques and recipes for preserving the fall harvest through the art of fermentation. This session will cover the basics of fermenting on a small scale and delve into the rich cultural heritage of fermented vegetables.

Total cost for all three sessions is $90. Sessions 1 and 2 cost $30 each and Session 3 costs $45 (includes a complete bokashi kit).

Classes will be taught by Bozeman local, Kathleen Rauch. Kathleen spent the years of her daughters' early childhood living on a small farm on Whidbey Island, WA. There, she dedicated herself to the art of homesteading and learned to raise all manner of plants and animals along with techniques for food preservation, herbal medicine-making and community-building. Her years of hobby farming inspired an on-going fascination with techniques for building soil health and vitality.

Please sign-up in advance for the sessions. Location and directions will be e-mailed upon registration. For more information or to sign up, go to www.brokengroundpermaculture.com, email info@brokengroundpermaculture.com or call Kareen Erbe at 406.600.7881.
