This second session covers Fermented Vegetables and takes place on Saturday, November 3 from 10am-12pm.
Students will learn techniques and recipes for preserving the fall harvest through the art of fermentation. This session will cover the basics of fermenting on a small scale and delve into the rich cultural heritage of fermented vegetables.
Total cost for all three sessions is $90. Sessions 1 and 2 cost $30 each and Session 3 costs $45 (includes a complete bokashi kit).
Classes will be taught by Bozeman local, Kathleen Rauch. Kathleen spent the years of her daughters' early childhood living on a small farm on Whidbey Island, WA. There, she dedicated herself to the art of homesteading and learned to raise all manner of plants and animals along with techniques for food preservation, herbal medicine-making and community-building. Her years of hobby farming inspired an on-going fascination with techniques for building soil health and vitality.
