Bozeman
printmaker and painter Dan Harrison a.k.a. hj mooij is exhibiting
selected lithographs of illustrations from his narrative text "Space
Traveling Moon Monster" in the Emerson's Lobby gallery., the opening
reception and gallery talk will be Friday February 8, 6-8 pm. Eight
years of experimentation with a wide variety of printmaking techniques
has culminated in Harrison's focus on lithography. The displayed
lithographs were created as his thesis project at Montana State
University where he earned a Masters of Fine Arts in May 2007. Dan
Harrison further describes his work: My primary influences are the
mystery of the universe that we are a part of, and the notion that
outer space has no limits. The mental peace evoked by nature motivates
my desire to create colorful lithographs depicting environments and
creatures that are unknown in the natural world.
