Gallatin Valley Farmers’ Market

Description:
The Gallatin Valley Farmers' Market was started around 30 years ago by a group of dedicated, hard working volunteers in the community who wanted to bring fresh produce from the farm to town. Thirteen years ago Career Transitions was offered the great opportunity to take over management of the market and thus began, "The ORIGINAL Gallatin Valley Farmers' Market."The ultimate goal for the ORIGINAL Gallatin Valley Farmers' Market is to provide a safe, fun environment for the community to meet old and new friends and purchase fresh produce and local artists and crafters merchandise. The revenue generated from the market goes back into the community through Career Transitions' many programs such as: Job Search/Computer Literacy Classes, Basic Literacy, GED, Entrepreneur classes and Medical Services Training. Each Saturday from 9-noon, our market hosts 180-200 vendors with a customer count of 4,000 -6,000. Customers may purchase a variety of locally grown produce, artwork crafts, fresh baked goods and coffee. Our market has been working with the Bozeman Senior Center to provide fresh produce to senior citizens at no cost for the past 5 years. Seniors sign up for the produce program at the Bozeman Senior Center and are given produce vouchers which they redeem for fresh Montana produce at the ORIGINAL Gallatin Valley Farmers' Market. Our market is also the only market in Gallatin County that accepts EBT cards. Customers need to come to the market table at the entrance of the pavilion and we will explain the procedure for them to shop at the market with EBT tokens. The market tradition continues …from June 20-September 12 at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, 9 a.m. - Noon.
