SUMMARY:Red Feather Development Group - \"Boots and Bales\" Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday, November 3, 2012, Red Feather Development Group will host its second annual Boots and Bales fundraiser in support of its American Indian Sustainable Housing Initiative. This year, Red Feather Development Group is celebrating 18 years of partnering with American Indian nations to develop and implement sustainable solutions to the housing needs within their communities.

Of the 2.5 million tribal members living on America\'s Indian reservations, more than 60% are either homeless or living in over-crowded, substandard conditions. Many homes lack basic facilities such as water or electricity. Red Feather partners with Native American families to build energy efficient, affordable straw bale houses, provides tribal members with vocational education regarding sustainable construction techniques, and provides assistance with the complicated mortgage and land procurement process.

The event, which will be held at the Rockin\' TJ Ranch, will feature:
- The music of Montana Rose - a popular local Western Americana band - with the sweet voice, lyrics and guitar of Claudia Williams, backed by her skilled band.
- A fantastic dinner of authentic Indian Tacos.
- Local brews, wines, and other libations.
- A live and silent auction of a number of adventures and items that reflect our focus on sustainability and Native American culture.

Most importantly, the evening will provide an opportunity for our guests to hear from volunteers and staff about Red Feather\'s important work creating affordable straw bale homes and building the capacity of American Indian communities.
