Sunspot Jonz grew from the East Oakland soil that kills so many of its own seeds.<br />
Resilience, intellect, and the gift of gab allowed him to overcome more challenges in his<br />
youth than most people face in a lifetime. In the environment in which he lived, and so<br />
many of the homies died, Sunspot kept the original vision of Hip Hop alive, with a four<br />
track and dream, hustling tapes on Telegraph Ave., guerilla style, a warehouse livin\', Top<br />
Ramen eatin\' savage, sending a different message than all the other MC\'s in the game. His<br />
life experience made him know that any human being can control their own destiny. Any<br />
human being can choose to ignore the negativity that society attempts to force upon us,<br />
and choose a different reality. Sunspot Jonz is a visionary. Through Music and Film, he<br />
has provided others a glimpse in to his reality, and a chance to tap in to one of the longest<br />
running messages of self empowerment and determination in Hip Hop music. Since he<br />
pressed his first album in 1995 and convinced Amoeba music to let him use their shrink<br />
wrap machine and sell his homemade tapes, he has been about sharing his vision, intellect,<br />
and insights, and shining a light on the injustice and inequity that exists in the world,<br />
culturally, socially, and politically. Sunspots message has always been one of possibility,<br />
of hope, and of change, long before the terms came to be in vogue. Sunspot pursued these<br />
ideals with a Revolutionary tenacity unmatched by any in the industry, always striving to<br />

create social action, through his contributions to the world. The beats are always tight, and<br />
sometimes songs are entertaining, funny, BANGIN, or get your groove on smooth, but<br />
somewhere, buried in there is a pearl of wisdom, or social commentary waiting to be<br />
unwrapped. Sunspots vision, sense of community, and example founded legendary Hip<br />
Hop groups Mystik Journeyman and Living Legends, and provided a whole roster of<br />
talented MC\'s beats to rhyme .. they could make their own. The first to invest in a<br />
sampler, SunSpot also began sampling musical genres and making beats and sampling<br />
songs, sounds, and languages from around the world that others hadn\'t experimented with<br />
yet. From Mt. Fuji, to the Outback to Europe and all over N. America Sunspot Jonz has<br />
performed, and spread the gospel of underground Hip Hop world wide. Every where he<br />
goes, and everything he does he makes the impossible, possible. Positively motivating the<br />
world to do something, anything, different than the current insanity, he consistently makes<br />
something from nothing.<br />

Pigeon John hails from sunny Southern California, Inglewood to be exact. It\'s easy to<br />
assume his signature blend of wit, charisma and undeniable stage presence is a fortunate<br />
gift (and it is), but let\'s be real. Everyone starts somewhere. Pigeon John cut his teeth in<br />
the early 90s at the legendary Good Life Cafe, spitting rhymes on the same stage with then<br />
fledgling, now established artists like Freestyle Fellowship, Kurupt, The Pharcyde and<br />
Jurassic 5. Good Life open-mic nights became PJ\'s ritual. It was the perfect environment<br />
to hone his performance and delivery skills amongst discerning peers.<br />

Time at the Good Life gave way to time spent at local venues and in the studio with<br />
friends like Brainwash Projects and LA Symphony. His appearances on the underground<br />
classics, The Rise and Fall of Brainwash Project and Composition 1 from Brainwash<br />
Projects and LA Symphony, respectively, put him on the radar as one to watch.<br />

In 2002, Pigeon John released his solo debut Pigeon John Is Clueless, selling over 11,000<br />
copies with no distribution. He followed up with Pigeon John Is Dating Your Sister<br />
and Pigeon John Sings The Blues. The albums garnered significant praise landing him<br />
features in Spin\'s \"Next Big Things\" issue, URB\'s \"Next 100\" and Mic Check in The<br />
Source. PJ\'s infectious tunes have been used by XBOX for the games \"Project Gotham\"<br />
and \"NBA Inside Drive 2002,\" as well as the major motion picture \"Get Over It.\" John<br />
has also performed and appeared in print and television ads for both Levi\'s and Nestle<br />
Crunch.<br />

Touring the nation 8 times over, Pigeon John has earned his veteran status, using a clever<br />
balance of self-deprecating humor and confidence to rock any crowd, any stage. His<br />
boundless energy seduces crowds making ladies swoon and fellas embrace their geek<br />
appeal.<br />
Enamored by PJ\'s infectious energy and raw talent exhibited on the Cali Comm tour,<br />
Lyrics Born brought Pigeon John into the Quannum fold in 2005.
