Protect Seniors From Fraud Seminar
1:00 PM Bozeman Senior Center
Description:
Members of the community are invited to participate in a free seminar to educate families and seniors about how to protect themselves from scammers who may be targeting seniors with a variety of clever cons that could jeopardize not only their life savings but their independence. Detective Don Peterson of the Bozeman Police Department will share his safety tips at the Bozeman Senior Center.
The Protect Seniors from Fraud program - developed by Home Instead Senior Care® and the nonprofit National Association of Triads - provides family caregivers with a number of important tools, including a Criminal Target Scale, which can help family caregivers assess how likely their senior is to be the potential target of a scam.
"We're pleased to provide the tools to help family caregivers as well as seniors ward off increasingly cunning con artists and their elaborate schemes to defraud local adults," said Ruth Ann Marchi, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Gallatin County. A Senior Fraud Protection Kit is available by calling the local franchise office and kits will be distributed at the seminar on October 18.
