Self-styled Lewistown "soul troubadour" Charlie Denison is a high-energy acoustic
Americana artist that will take you on a trip through several decades in a series of
sets. Covering Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Citizen Cope, Kenny Chesney and more, Denison will make you wonder what he is going to play next and keep you captivated with his soulful, bluesy, raspy vocal. According to Mariss McTucker of Lively Times Magazine, "Denison carries nice, original melodies with a strident and gravelly baritone vocal, sometimes reminiscent of Tom Waits. At other times, he sounds like he's channeling influences like Steve Earle or Bruce Springsteen." Denison, originally from the suburbs of Indianapolis, has picked up culture and influences from musicians in Kentucky, Tennessee and Montana. In 2012, he self-released his first solo EP, titled 'Whispers of the Lonely' an album of original songs that blend country, folk, blues and soul.
