Broad Comedy All New Show
8:00 PM Emerson Cultural Center
Description:
If you’ve never been to a Broad Comedy show, you’re in for a rare treat. Bozeman's hottest ticket, has expanded and moved it's upcoming show of all-new material to the Emerson Cultural Center where they can offer more tickets for their normally sold-out houses and can stretch their fishnet covered legs a little further. But it's only 2 days, November 21 & 22 at 8pm, so be sure to get your tickets early and jot it down on your calendar so you don't miss out. Presented by The Equinox Theatre and Vootie Productions, and sponsored by Pheasant Farms, this promises to be the Broads’ biggest show yet!
More antics from the people who brought you "The United States Extreme Right Wing Cheerleading Squad," and "Time To Say Goodbye to George W. Bush," as well as an all-new racy Park Bench Mothers sketch, giant musical numbers, left-wing politics, rated R shenanigans we can't mention here, women's issues, women's shenanigans, and more. If you love Bush or are offended by strong language and mature content, this is probably not the show for you.
Written by two of the Equinox Theatre Company artistic directors, Katie Goodman and Soren Kisiel, what will the show have to say just two weeks after the election?
“Well,” Kisiel smiles, “that depends on what happens! We’ll be writing our fingers to the bone the day after.”
Poised with pen in hand, Goodman and Kisiel are ready either way the election goes, with several numbers already being penned in both directions, just in case. And of course, the majority of the show will be up to the minute cultural satire, and not all political. “And thank God,” Goodman laughs. “Because really, how much more of this can we all take?!”
Just back from the Vancouver Fringe Theatre Festival where they sold-out and brought down the Canadian house and got rave reviews, these Broads are ready for action. They have earned their frequent flier miles in the last few years with a run in Boston, and appearances in New York. Goodman just performed in Times Square at Caroline’s on Broadway, with an impressive line-up of the country’s best women comics, for the MS. Foundation Annual Fundraiser, where she was asked back after an appearance there two years ago.
Broad Comedy is now reaching out to a larger audience with their popular YouTube music videos. Their first video “Soccer Mom Ho” is coming up on 50,000 hits, and they now have 6 videos up on YouTube with a new one being produced and uploaded by Aver Ingenuity each month. YouTube has offered this local troupe a way to reach bigger and bigger audiences and get more recognition nationally.
So if you’re ready for racy, smart, feisty, in-your-face comedy that comes with both an edgy integrity and satirical honesty, then call for tickets now for this ever-popular cabaret of sketch comedy and musical satire. It is a high-energy laugh-fest that you don’t want to miss.
The doors open at 7:00pm at the Emerson, so you can put your coat on a seat and head back to the lobby for a glass of wine, a chair massage, and some camaraderie and frivolity with friends. For tickets, call 406-587-0737, ext. 1. Credit cards now accepted. Or you can purchase tickets in person at Cactus Records.
