Description:
Kids’ Book Group The Kids’ Book Group for readers ages 8 and up meets on Thursday afternoon, October 23, at 4 p.m. for informal discussion of favorite books and snacks. Two titles have been chosen for this month, both about the country of Haiti in connection with the One Book-One Bozeman project. Kids can read Anacaona, Golden Flower by Edwidge Danticat, who was born in Haiti and writes about a 15th century Haitian who became a warrior, poet, storyteller, and diplomat. Or kids can read Tonight by Sea by Frances Temple, about a teenager who helps her uncle secretly build a boat they will use to try to escape to the U.S. because of governmental brutality and poverty. We will also choose books for the November meeting. Please call the Children’s Desk at 582-2404 for details.
