5th Annual Local Food Fair
2:00 PM
Montana State University
Announcing the 5th annual Local Food Fair in the SUB Ballrooms at Montana State University. This year's event will be held on Tuesday, February 8th from 2-4pm in the Strand Union Building. MSU Food Services, Friends of Local Foods, and Gallatin Valley Farm to School are the proud sponsors of this annual event bringing together over 50 local food producers, processers and ally organizations from across Montana. The purpose of the Local Food Fair is to increase awareness on campus and within the Gallatin Valley of the abundance Montana offers, allow consumers to put a face to the producers and support the efforts for a community based food system throughout the state.

John Turenne, Founder and President of Sustainable Food Systems, will be the event's keynote speaker this year. He will be presenting prior to the Food Fair, from 1-2pm in the Procrastinator Theater. John has been working in the food services industry for over thirty years, and helped to start the Yale Sustainable Food Project. More recently he has been a consultant, helping food services across the country instate sustainable practices and utilize local foods.

In addition, Gallatin Valley Farm to School will be offering organized kids activities from 2-3pm. To register your group, please contact Aubree Durfey at aubree@gvfarmtoschool.org.

There is no charge for the event and it is open to the public. Free parking will be available in the University Police parking lot off of 7th Avenue. We also encourage you to take a complimentary ride on the Streamline or consider carpooling! Go to http://www.streamlinebus.com/ for a bus schedule.
